Dry Stone Masonry
Dry stone masonry is one the oldest forms of masonry construction. It is mortarless stonemasonry, hence the word "dry." Stones are laid together such that gravity and friction do the work of keeping the structure together. Dry stone masonry is a very practical type of construction; structures built in this manner are flexible, durable, free-draining and easily maintained. Well-built and well-maintained dry stone walls are known to last hundreds of years.
Below, and in our project gallery, are some samples of our dry stone work. We offer both restoration and new construction of dry stone masonry.
